OUR STORY
GOLDEN BALL SOCCER ACADEMY
The Golden Ball Soccer Academy was founded by Coach Jonathan Baca in 2016, leveraging over 40 years of combined experience in playing professional soccer and training. A career pivot resulting from an IED explosion during his Navy service led Baca to coach a few defensive players on his eldest son's soccer team while recovering on crutches. He continued to coach other local clubs, which soon revealed a gap in quality and accessibility, inspiring the creation of the academy. Coach Baca's journey highlights his unwavering dedication to making soccer accessible regardless of income and mentoring young players, while also leveraging the strengths of our community.

We are proud to operate as a USA 501(c)(3) with EIN 93-1354156, dedicated to soccer development in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Our focus ranges from youth to semi-pro soccer, aiming to cultivate talent and passion within our community.
As a non-profit, we are committed to ensuring soccer remains accessible regardless of age, skill level, or household income. Donations play a vital role in supporting our mission, helping us to provide equal opportunities for training and experience to all members of the community, regardless of their circumstances.
