Background:

Build technically solid players. If every player has a solid foundation, then you will have a solid team. Personal development is extremely important in building solid soccer players. Team tactical skills will come with time. To create a strong team, each player needs to have a solid foundation that is developed by strong players that can function and be successful regardless of the team or club they play for.

Soccer Coaching Experience:

Coach Travis has over 17 years of coaching experience from recreational, travel/select, and middle/high school including Portsmouth Soccer Club, Churchland Soccer Club, and Golden Ball Soccer Academy.  Highlights include:

  • Waters Middle School, lead to back-to-back championships (boys and girls); Portsmouth, VA
  • Woodrow Wilson High School (now Manor High School), lead to school’s first Girl’s Conference 17 championship and Conference 17 Tournament championship, received Woodrow Wilson High coach-of-the-year; Portsmouth, VA
  • Junkyard Dawgs G2, Assistant Coach (with Head Coach Tod Niblow); Portsmouth, VA
  • Golden Ball Soccer Academy, 2011G and 2012G Head Coach (2020-present); Suffolk, VA
